1.       Today the Cool Ruler
is going to be repatriated to Jamaica where he’ll be laid in state for a funeral on the 20th of November at The National Indoor Stadium in Kingston. Although he had hundreds of singles – Wikipedia reckons he had over 500 albums released, he is best known for his Pop moment which came in the shape of ‘Night Nurse
’.
2.       Contrary to popular belief, ‘Night Nurse’ wasn’t actually a hit single for the Cool Ruler but instead the track that has become synonymous with the flu cure was a hit for Mick Hucknall & Sly N Robbie.
3.       Mick Hucknall
the recently retired front man for Simply Red had a slew of Pop Hits but one that strikes a great chord with many was ‘Holding Back The Years
’ which was revisited by Angie Stone
and included on the Soundtrack for the movie Love & Basketball.
4.       In 1988 ‘Holding Back The Years’ was the biggest solo release for Earl 16
even making that years Reggae Hits Compilation on Jet Star.
5.       In 2005 Earl 16 did his second studio album on the Ariwa Music label Produced by Mad Professor.
6.       Mad Professor
who has worked with just about everybody in Reggae found himself producing a track for the Beastie Boys & Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry back in 1998 for their Hello Nasty album.
