Replete with remixes ft: rappers Mims & Nikki Minaj, it is the undisputed champ of the Reggae charts! So how long has this gentleman, Gyptian, been around? To answer that we press the rewind button and stop at the year 2005. That was when many of us first heard from the man born Windell Edwards in Portmore, Jamaica. This week in 2005 his debut hit, 'Serious Time' was one of a brace of one-drop songs that was making much noise on the airwaves, but was just exiting the charts. What was at the top of the charts then? None other than LOC with the annoyingly catchy 'Ring Ding Ding (Crazy Frog)'. Inspired by a an equally annoyingly catchy TV ringtone advertisement, the song recorded in London, in turn inspired a dance craze that Mr Wacky (Bogle) would have been proud of. The riddim was equally as popular as the dance as it was the same Applause riddim which featured Sean Paul's chart-busting 'Temperature'.
